We got a voice mail today that wasn't very pleasant but if I were to translate the message in my own words, it would say "You guys made the right decision to move to Chicago".

I guess we needed to hear it for ourselves so we can really believe it. We made the right decision to move to Chicago! Starting this next chapter in our lives on the high road with our chins held high being the best examples for our children. Together we will soar.

Anyone looking out for your best interests wouldn't put you through such turmoil. Clearly, YOU are looking out for the family's best interests, and those around you who support you and lift you up higher do as well.

Please tell me the person in question who has given you such heartache was not the one to say that but a sweet person who felt you needed to know you did good. You know what I mean. I miss you but know that it was the right thing for YOU. Hug and love and sometimes family are the toxic personalities that can hurt your soul.

Doing the right thing for your family is not always easy (as is evidenced by this past year's events) but you ARE doing what's right for your loved ones...with dignity and grace. Your children look to your strength/positivity now and will admire your actions in the future

so so so so happy for you that you made the right decision for your family. It's a good feeling, eh?

(Less happy for you that you got a unpleasant phone message)

Amen. Sometimes we need affirmation that we are doing the right thing. You are. Good luck and god bless you and your family. :)

I know 600 miles might not seem enough at times, but the move - the space you put between your lives, your kids and THAT, is the best decision for all involved. We're sending you love and strength and are grateful that if you have to be enduring such BS, that you are doing so while surrounded with supportive family and friends.

Chicago is a great place to live. You'll love it. Also, if you need someone to go and help the caller change his attitude, I'm your guy.

I love it when I am struggling with a decision and something happens that makes it so, so clear that I am doing the right thing. I hope this was it for you.

You will love Chicago! I'm sorry the move didn't come about as organically as one might hope for, but you will be happy you made the move, I know it! xoxo

Wha??? I don't read for a few months and you've moved? : ) That will teach me to take a hiatus from one of my favorite blogs (and blogs in general, I didn't discriminate, I promise. Just lots going on on the homefront!).

Trying to go through posts to see what brought about this change. Have you shared? Not trying to be nosey, honestly.

Either way, happy for you and your family as you begin a new adventure in a new city. I predict only wonderful things ahead for your very sweet family!!!

I will now resume my regularly scheduled readings!
