He's been an eager and active Cub Scout since August; but, just got his uniform this week. Pretty sure it will take me another four months to find the motivation to sew the patches on. Or iron his shirt. I've already misplaced his troop number badge thingy. I have a hard time focusing, I admit.

Which ensures me that no one in the Greater Cleveland Council of Boy Scouts will ever appoint me as the den leader. Right? (Insert photo of handsome Cub Scout to divert your attention from the aforementioned confession)

boyscout

I should never be appointed to any position in any organization (including all, but not limited to, the following: PTA, classroom mother, gymnastics team booster club, soccer traveling league, etc.) I confess that I am a HUGE domestic air-head. Always missing every memo/teacher's note home. Today I found a school nurse's "band-aid note" at the bottom of my son's book-bag the black hole that dated back to October. Informing me of the signs of a potential concussion. Ooops. I found it only because I read about Anna's band-aid report and thought, "Heh, I haven't gotten one of those in ages."

So. I forced myself to clean out my daughter's book-bag. Yet another abyss. Naturally, I found another complimentary "band-aid" report written on official elementary school paper from September encrusted in her "healthy snack" of goldfish crackers stating that she was hurt. Three months ago.

Don't get me started on the Dora underwear my toddler came home wearing after preschool. It wasn't hers. No note  was included but it has been a while since I cleaned out my minivan.

You know, I went to an event with Emma's music school on a tuesday when it was the day before :-* Two weeks later, Emma found the note in her school bag (it should have been in her music school bag ... ) I'm not good at keeping tracks of memos either ...

I am the same way. Absentminded doesn't even really begin to cover it. My child is in for it.

Amen and Amen- yeah, I don't see you as a Dora underwear buyer. That picture of Jay is priceless.

I'm not.

She spilled her juice on her pants and was soaked. I of course did not have a "change of clothes" for her, so she came home in someone else's clothes. Opps.

You're hilarious. :) They make medicine for this, you know. I take Strattera. It rocks. Oh, and kids getting hurt? Merit a phone call from the school. If it's not bad enough for a phone call, by the time you find the note, it won't matter anyway.

I figured as much. If it's really serious they would call me.

I was always on-top-of-the-game in preschool. There's so much more to keep track of when they get to school. Im slowly catching on.

I'm with ya, sister! My husband left me a note that I need to get my son's shirt ready for the pack meeting tomorrow. AND I have nine new patches to get on my daughter's vest. Here's a question for you ... If, as my husband states, it's so easy, why won't he do our son's like I suggested. He thought I was kidding. Yeah ... um ... nope, totally serious. ;-)

Mini came home wearing shoes that weren't his the other day, and I washed them (they were all muddy), and still didn't notice, until I went back to the school and saw that Mini's actual shoes were sitting in the basket there. DUMB. Parenting is HARD. :)

I am pretty organized ....well I was until I started a job that I work while the girls are in school. Now the cleaning is not getting done and the dinner is not up to par and I am not catching up at all. So I feel your airheadedness

Hey, I AM the Cub Scout den leader and I HATE IT. But no one else will step up. And I SUCK at it. Big time. Be glad your son isn't in my den. He'd be sorely disappointed.

Oh P I am just the same way. I was not when I had two children. I was so organized and so together. The third has morphed me into an air head;)

I think you are right. I had everything under control with two kids. Everything. Now, not so much.

I know how that is. At least you are still on time. I am never on time anymore. With twins it seems like something will always keep me behind. Plus now I totally realize I am not reliable anymore even thought I always thought very highly of myself in that regard.

You know, I am totally that disorganized, and I have no children. I have no excuse really, I think I'm just lazy.

I've said it before, but it bears repeating - I so appreciate your posts like this. Seeing someone who is obviously a terrific mother, but can admit to making human mistakes, is such a comfort to the rest of us bumbling around.

And that Cub Scout of yours is darling, badges on uniform or no.
