Preparing for Święty Mikołaj PDF Print E-mail

I don't remember how old I was (old enough to recognize my father's eyes in the Święty Mikołaj costume and recognize his thick accent laughing Ho! Ho! Ho!) that one Christmas in the late 1980s when my siblings and I rocked out to a well choreographed dance to C&C Music Factory.  Me, the bossy older sister, dictated all the moves weeks beforehand and reminded them it had to be perfect for Wigilia. It was the night that Santa came to our house.

It was the best performance in the history of all Wigilias.

This is the year that we might finally get out shined.  Unless we start practicing our old dance routine as grown adults, tomorrow.  Because Jay, Lola and Fifi have written out an impressive repertoire of poems, songs and dances to entertain Mikołaj.  They all believe in him, understand our Polish traditions and have dedicated every ounce of energy they have into practicing for Wigilia.  The night we welcome Christmas.

Tonight, I was excited because I realized I was so done with having children... I was happy, I felt elated, I was thinking.. "I'm SO close to being out of the diaper stage forever!" And then... I see this video of your two cute girls, and the 'maybe I should have a third baby' thought has entered my head! TOO CUTE!!!

They are so cute. Not to be too critical but I really think that you need to start playing some kolendy. You can always change some of the wording to "put your hands up, sign this song... jesus was born in bethlehem... moving my hips like yeah, sharing oplatek like yeah"... a little bit of tweeking and it all can become Polish for Dziadek ;)
