A couple of weeks ago in the basement of John Carroll University student's union a kindergartner wrapped her first present. With a roll of tape, some festive wrapping paper and encouragement from the student council president she continued to wrap twenty-seven more gifts for children throughout the Cleveland area.

Wrapping presents has always been my thing. (Read: assistants need not apply)

Apparently.  Wrapping presents has become my daughter's thing too. Because that delightful morning at JCU sparked a wrapping frenzy at home that has kept her busy. Busy. Busy. Busy.

Three rolls of wrapping paper. Six rolls of tape. One paper cut. And I think she covered every single person in our family, making sure they have a "present" from her signed "Love Lola."

She wrapped trinkets found in the bottom of her desk's junk drawer. She smiled when wrapping hand-drawn portraits of herself with fancy curlicue hair. She found it difficult to wrap a granny smith apple and one very ripe tangerine, together.  Pretty good job, no?

She hand picked photos of herself to wrap.

Yup. This year, dozens of family members will smile scratch their heads when opening up gifts inscribed "Love Lola" on Christmas morning. Merry Christmas dear friends, hope you receive many presents that make you smile.

Merry Christmas to you and your family! SO cute - nothing cuter than children wrapping 'presents' for loved ones, huh? FYI - I'm a great gift wrapper, too! I used to do it profesionally - as in, I was one of those girls who wrapped presents in the malls when I was in University! And I was a gift wrapper at Holt Renfrew - Canada's version of Neiman Marcus - I did that for the great discounts!!

So cute! What is it about tape and paper that keeps kids entertained for HOURS? I wish I could hire her to wrap my gifts. It's definitely not my thing.

Merry Christmas to you and yours!

My daughter the same exact way-- for the past month she's wrapped every toy in the house and at night she and her brothers rip them open. It's adorable, but we're going through tape and paper like crazy. I'm hoping the novelty wears off fast!

Love Lola's generous spirit! My daughter saved for months so she could buy a little gift for EVERY member of her family and took such joy in selecting the perfect gift and wrapping it herself too. She's also created all sorts of games for her cousins to play over Christmas...she's definitely got the Christmas spirit (just like your sweet little Lola!)

My Ben is loving to wrap "presents" this year too. It's a good thing I got that paper 75% off at Tarjay last year...

Merry Christmas to your sweet family my friend!

I hope that picture shows up at her wedding!

And I am thankful that my ex-step-mother forced me to learn to wrap. Most of my friends just use gift bags...I still wrap.

My 4yo has been obsessed with wrapping gifs for 2 years now, but her specialty is gift bags. She I always save our giftbags for reuse, but frequently they are squirreled away by a little miss before they can be put in their proper storage spot. We then get suprised with gift bags full of all of her little toys and a "SUPRISE! It's your birthday!"

This warmed my heart. I truly hope those who are fortunate enough to receive one of her gifts also realize how much love was wrapped inside too.

I love this post and the fact that you didn't bat an eye when she went through rolls of wrapping paper and tape. What a lovely memory! Merry Christmas!

So sweet! Shark Boy is like this - he wants to wrap and does a lot of "homemade" ie - found at the bottom of a drawer - gifts. The best kind!

Merry Christmas Pauline!!
