1 dress worn 6 times in 1 month. PDF Print E-mail

And it's no longer available at stores for purchase.  As it's completely sold out because a flood of women, like me who fell in love with this practical little black dress, purchased it not-on-sale for the price of $68 (or $86, I suddenly go dyslexic when remembering prices - honestly) and I would link to it, but it's sold out.  It never went on sale!

I've worn the dress in different company six times in the last month.  I'm not ashamed of the fact; in fact, I'm quite proud of stimulating the economy and being "green" by re-using it.  It has been my go-to-dress this month and every time I go anywhere I get major compliments twice over.  "Super adorable dress!!!"  That's like $11.33 per wear and I plan on wearing it to church this Sunday.  Woot.

Date night tonight with the super-sexy-husband-of-nearly-ten-years....

Day time writing conference, last week...

Minus the heels and lipstick of a date night, with an Ann Taylor cardigan thrown over the dress wearing super comfy green YOU flats.

I wore the dress last night to my neighborhood GNO (I know! Two nights in a row, is so declasse!!!!  But it was washed and the GNO women weren't at the writer's workshop or the benefit we attended tonight. So the dress was safe. Right?)  I also wore it to kindergarten lunch duty in flats and a park play-date in flip-flops.  Thank goodness no one was at my sister's bridal shower in Chicago when I first wore the dress.

That's six times in one month, I wore the dress. SIX TIMES!

Note to super-sexy-husband-of-nearly-ten-years:  the watch I've been encouraging you to purchase for me for Mother's Day would be worn everyday.  That's less then a dollar per wear and it would stimulate the economy.  It's a good thing you married someone so practical and patriotic.

(ADDED: found dress at the second JCrew I visited. They are marked down to $29.99 - not available online)

What a cute versatile dress! They always say every women needs a little black dress, but dang girl so impressed that you found one that you could use and rock so much! I wear the same thing about 6 times a month now too... but that is because none of my clothes fit and I don't want to spend a lot of money on maternity clothes. :)

I just loves dresses that are multi functional. I bought a classic LBD at Express about 10 years ago and it's still my go to dress. Love it!

Alright, I fold. Maybe, perhaps just maybe, I need a new everyday wearable black dress. I might just lift my "No Black, No White" rule of clothing purchases. Or maybe I just want to take a SUPER FREAKING CUTE picture like the one of you and Dr.Ohmommy?

I just bought two dresses, different colors, same dress. I plan on wearing them everywhere this summer. When we meet, at the end of the summer, I will most likely be wearing one of them.
I love the one you are wearing, it looks so comfortable and flattering.
I have been thinking about getting a pair of YOU shoes for this summer too.

Love the dress. Good job getting excellenet use out of it. I so need to start doing that with my dresses more often. But maybe I haven't found 'the one' yet? Hmm... I need a new LBD! xo

THAT is precisely what I need. I have a birthday coming up, for which we are having a smallish evening party complete with champagne, and I keep wondering whether I should buy a new dress or do the green thing and wear one I already have. I do not own a single LBD any more. Where should I look for something that is not too formal and as versatile as yours? I am much more likely to wear it for GNO casual cocktails or to a summer b-b-q than to a fancy restaurant, so I don't want silk or anything that requires dry cleaning. Shopping suggestions? Pretty please! (I don't do Forever 21 type stores, as I am a lady with a very hourglass shape.)

Forget the dress. What I like is the look in your eyes in that first picture. It is SO "Look Out, Daddy!!"

that is an amazingly adorable dress - and JCrew has had my heart since high school. But what I love, is the fact that you found a way to wear a dress 6 times a month! Cheers for dressing it up!

That is a great dress and I just love it when you find a 'piece' that just fits with everyday life, no matter if you spend it with kids or on a sexy date night and everything in between!

Great find!

That's called an investment dress. And I'm a big proponent of that. One dress worn many different ways is what style is all about!

I LOVE it when I find something like that that I can wear over and over again. I just bought a dress as Loft a few weeks ago that reminds me of it, only it's sleeveless. I haven't worn it yet, but I just know it's going to be a favorite. I'm all about the cute little flats, too. I'm all over green this year.

Love the dress! Now in my Mommyland life I very rarely buy "posh" clothes but did but a new black wool dress for this winter and have worn it on every occasion when I have been out (which is about ten times).

Oh but what if you are an American who lives in Marrakesh and J Crew dresses can only only be bought on line:-( Well, I guess then you are out of luck!

isn't that feeling the best? When something has so many multiple wears. I have a dress I picked up from Target and Forever21 that is like that.

What an adorable dress! Love how you switched it up. I really need a little black dress, and JCrew never dissapoints. Going to check it out over the weekend.

Is shopping on your agenda in Aug in NYC? Cuz I think you, Loukia and I should grab a glass of champagne and hit Barney's together!
