Should of, could've. I'm so glad I did. PDF Print E-mail

One of my new year's resolutions was to use the word should less.

Last Sunday night, I was sitting on my couch thinking to myself  "I really should invite some neighbors over to watch the Desperate Housewives finale."  I remembered how much fun college was when we cramped in all of our girlfriends to watch TV on our salvation army couch eating re-heated pizza.  So I hastily sent out an email last week to a few of the ladies from the hood begging them to come over in comfy clothes, bearing munchies, to watch TV with me.  Like college.

Half an hour before the show started, they arrived and it was apparent from the shrimp cocktails, pomegranate mojitos and cute ballet flats that our tastes have grown more refined since those college days.  However, laughter and silly conversations still haven't.  "We should do this for RHONY too."  One of my neighbors said.

mojito

Husband's weak-enough-for-a-Sunday-night pomegranate mojitos.

Life is too short and I have cabinets filled with fun serving dishes/stemware.  I should find another excuse to have more friends over soon.  And, I will.

GNI are just as fun as GNO--and that's one thing that should never stop!

Sounds like fun! I do miss watching shows together like the college days. And the drinks look fabulous!

The fancy stemware should always come out more often! My grandma used to say life should not be measured by the number of things you have but by the number of glasses you've shattered in merriment.

While I don't recommend breaking your glasses.... I like the sound of that idea!

How fun! Although I didn't love DH finale this year, still, of course, I watched. I'm going to the premier of SATC2 next week and I can't wait!

What an awesome idea! And, it sounds like such a blast.

I think if I tried that, my friends would all bail out!

An excellent idea! I'm up for any excuse for a party.

(Haul it out to CA and come to our monthly potluck.)

Of course.

This was an impromptu last-minute gathering of neighbors. I plan on having many more TV viewing parties. It was fun!

Yum! Do you have a recipe? I have some mint growing on my porch just waiting to be made into something delish. :)

How fun to have some friends over to watch DH. I should do that sometime.

When I realized how often I said 'should' I realized how much I had missed.
Great post!

I watched it! I wonder which kid was switched at birth. My friends and I try the same thing with weekly watching TV parties but it never pans out. I find myself tweeting along with strangers with my laptop while watching RHONJ or RHONY.

Love those shows!
