I had a conference call this afternoon. A conference call with Amy from England, Ryan from Florida and the ladies from BlogHer in San Francisco to discuss our panel "How to edit your pictures and make them 10x better" for the upcoming conference in New York City this August. I pictured each one of them effortlessly picking up the phone to conduct business. It took a village for me to answer the phone.
An hour before the official business call... I slipped on my flip-flops. Threw chicken nuggets in the oven for after-school snack. Wiped one behind. Washed my hands. Found an extension cord. Dragged a hose out of storage. Took chicken nuggets out of the oven. Greeted two children off the bus. Wiped another behind. Washed my hands.Lathered three children with sunscreen. Plugged in an inflatable toy. Ushered kids outside. And. Dusted off my "office" chair.
I was almost ready for the conference call.
I brought out three separate dipping sauces for chicken. Filled two requests for extra water. Wiped ketchup off of a Hello Kitty swimsuit. Screamed, "This isn't a full service restaurant! Eat. The. Chicken. Nuggets." Called my neighbors. Begged for company. Cried, "I can't do this alone. I have a business call." Greeted neighbors. Ushered nine children outside.
And. Took the conference call.
Sometimes it takes a village to answer one phone call as a SAHM. Not sure how professional it sounds during a conference call to yell, "It is your pool, now go on and swim in it!" when breaking up a toddler argument of "it's mine" "no, it's mine!" But I wouldn't trade my village or my office just yet. |

And to think all I worry about is two dogs barking when a package arrives. You are AMAZING (caps intentional)!
A) I wanna come play at your house
B) I like chili sauce with my nuggets
C) I WISH I were going to BlogHer so I could attend y'all's panel
D) you're going to rock it. You and Amy hug each other from me.
Ha. After I typed that and heard it in my head, it sounded like a cheesy come-on line.
But seriously though..
Your yard looks EXACTLY the same as my dad's does in Akron. Must be an Ohio thing.
