Our neighborhood just got together for the annual block party.  We enjoyed good food and great conversations.  I even discovered a camp my children might be interested in for next summer, through a quick chit-chat.  This week I am partaking in an online block party.   And just like a real-life block party, there will be food given away and loads of great topics discussed.

Everyday this week I will be discussing how to preserve summer memories, on my review blog.  Check in daily for some great tips and cool ways you can preserve your summer memories.  Super quick tip for today: preserve your summer memories by making a monthly collage using Picnik. Each day I will be giving away summer pack prizes valued at $30-$40 and then a bigger prize for Friday, which includes a summer pack prize, a Shutterfly giftcard and a $100 Visa gift card.  Woot!  A total of five winners.  Check in with the other summer block party bloggers for more conversations and extra changes to win.

It has to be when we took our four kids to Sanibel Island, Florida. We had never seen the Gulf of Mexico, and it was sooooo blue and pretty, it was the best week of our lives.

Our favorite summer memory is spending a few days in your neck of the woods...Chicago! We spent endless amounts of time at American Girl Doll in the cafe and at their hair salon. My kids absolutely loved it- and surprisingly, my husband had a good time, too.

My favorite summer memory is back in my teens when my parents took us on a road trip from Oregon to North Dakota to see family. We went through Yellowstone Park and Glacier Park. My brother had a deer eat out of his hand and his picture standing about 5 feet away from a buffalo laying on the side of the road. I was very car-sick from the trip but we had a blast.

Favorite summer memory from this summer - MOVING! We just moved into a new house. Tons of stress associated with the sale of our other house, the house we were renting and then the building/purchase of this house so to finally be here is pretty darn great!!! Still unpacking but we have swim lessons, trips to the library, movies and lots of reading and trips to the pool planned for this summer!!

My favorite memory this summer is heading down to our local Farmer's Market, listening to music, playing in the fountain. playing soccer with the kiddos and just enjoying great local fresh produce. Ahhh. Too bad it's always 100 degrees in Texas. ;)

When I was a kid we spent the majority of our summer weekends at a lake in NC. Loved it as a kid and love it even more as a mom seeing my kids try all the things I did when I was little. My older two (7 & 6 yrs) learned how to knee-board last week and gave water skiing a try too!

My favorite summer memory so far is our camping trip a few weeks ago. My son hated it lol, but after he went to sleep each night, we had a ton of fun! He did love swimming in the lake. My daughter had a blast. I liked taking her fishing, it was just her and I and we got some nice "girl time" in.
Thanks!

I would say our best summer memory was last summer. The whole summer was fantastic. We had just moved to a new area and there was so much to explore. I don't think my house ever got a good cleaning because every day we were busy having fun. It was so great and made a lot of life long friends.

I grew up on no-bank water front here in the Puget Sound. My favorite memory of summer is waking up to the morning sun shinning on the water, making it look like diamonds. I'd play on the beach all day long.

With my children the best summer memory besides when they were born(both July girls) was last summer when we went to Seattle to visit family. We hiked up to Denny Creek and slid down a natural water slide and had a blast with the older cousins.
For me growing up in summer was hanging out at the family pool and listening to the radio with my sisters or going to the public pool with my friends.

My favorite memory so far this summer was taking my train obsessed preschooler on an Amtrack trip across the country. The first morning, after waking up and realizing he was still on a train he shouted "Amen! Amen! Amen!" If that is not a grateful heart, I don't know what is.

Wow - this has been a horrible summer - I guess I'll have to figure out which was the least worst! OK - my best memory this summer is FINALLY replacing the delightful avocado tile in our master bath that we haven't been able to use for the last 3 years because it leaked. That sounds like a good memory, right? Just don't ask how long it took compared to how long they SAID it would take. Or WHY it took so long. And don't get me started on the worker who told me in total seriousness that our country is in a big financial crisis right now because of..... are you ready for this?..... legalized abortions! Aren't you glad you didn't ask what the WORST thing we've been through this summer is? LOL

My best summer memory was a trip to my grandmother's house as a child. We would stay for weeks on end, bake cookies, feed all the farm animals, and sit on the front porch swing and chat for hours in the afternoon watching the cars pass on the highway.

Time didn't seem to exist then. :)

My favorite summer memory is eating lemon ice with my grandmother. She used to freeze sweet pink lemonade in a plastic cup with a spoon. When it was frozen, she would run water over the outside of the cup and pull up on the frozen over spoon. Then she would hand me one and she would take hers out. We would eat ice together on the hot front stoop and watch the kids on the block run through the sprinkler made from the hydrants.

Great giveaway - thanks :) My favorite summer memories are the times we spend on our boat. When we untie the lines and head out to the Gulf, no matter our destination, our little family is together and it gives me great peace. Happy summer to you and your family.

Favorite "summertime" memory is our recent family trip to Maui...ok, it wasn't technically summertime yet, but it still rawked.

Seeing my children tackle their swim tests with perseverance and the pride that followed was also a big highlight for me this summer.

My family is taking a vacation in August, but I went to the lake with some friends and family for the 4th of July and it was a blast! I haven't had a family vacation with all 4 of my kids yet, so I'm sure that will be my most memorable time when it comes!

I am a new, first-time, grandmother. Every moment I spend with my three-month-old grandson is another memory in the making. I most recently saw Orion (the baby) at my 12yo son's baseball game. I had so much fun holding the baby while cheering on my son (who hit the only home-run during the game).

My favorite summer memories are when I was a teen and every year (sometimes twice) during the summer I got to fly from Idaho to Seattle to visit my aunt, cousin, uncle, and grandma. My grandma and grandpa on the other side of the family paid for me to fly by myself each year to go visit the family. One year my aunt even took me to a concert. I was 14 and it was Hanson. Mmmbop! :)
