The cat ate the frog yesterday.

catfrog

Just days after a flock of crickets ate the bearded dragon.

Both the frog and lizard were alive before their sudden and unfortunate demise.

I found the cat belly up asleep on my son's bed, licking his chops, a mere five feet away from the crime scene. The frog was gone. The bearded dragon was paralyzed over Thanksgiving break by a malfunctioning heated rock that fell on top of him causing spinal cord injury not allowing him to hunt for his food (crickets) anymore. Therefore the lizard was eaten alive by it's prey while we were gone. Call PETA! The wound on his back, upon our return, was rated R for ridiculously disgusting. Who knew that crickets were carnivores? Lesson learned. RIP Froggie and Rex. My sensitive son took the news much better than I anticipated - I thank his obsession with Animal Planet for that. "Can I just get a lock on my door?" he asked after I explained that the cat ate his frog. At least he didn't ask for a new puppy.

You better hope he never asks for a St. Bernard.

Crickets= ewww...

Didn't know cats ate frogs, either.

I hope Santa's been feeding his animals well. I'm guessing the Classy house will have some new pets by next Saturday.

You are a brave mom.

At least our hermit crabs just die of natural causes. But that's plenty traumatic for us.

What's wrong with me that I wanted to see pictures of it all?! I can't believe the freaky animal chain craziness you've had going on lately.

I'm still stuck on the whole, "crickets ate our lizard" line. For really reals?
When is National Geographic going to do a special on that one? Because my boys would totally DVR that.

Glad J took it ok.

We used to have hermit crabs. After the second one disappeared, it was either put out small bowls of clarified butter for the cats or stop replacing the crabs.

RIP bearded dragon and frog.

Oh no,that is a horror story!
I just checked out your previous post and it looks like those pets lasted four months..not bad :)
We had geckos once and i was putting its heat rock in its cage and it accidentally landed on his tail. Well the tail immediately came off and was twitching in the cage..ahh!
If i remember correctly i think he grew back a little nub but it was never the same. Also one cricket each time would somehow escape and drive us crazy chirping in the house.
haha reptile fun

Bwahahahaha! I had no idea that crickets were carnivores. They're bugs, though. You just never know.

Did you know that opossums are omnivores? One tried to kill our back yard bunny back in Florida. Don't ever get one as a pet.
