EXTREME Costa Rica: narrated by child PDF Print E-mail

My son is an aficionado of the popular "extreme" television shows sprinkling the Travel/Food cable networks lately. There's nothing cooler to an eight-year-old-boy than knowing where the world's longest water slide is and that Dubai has an indoor ski hill and that people in Indonesia consider worms as delicacies. When I complain that my buffalo wings are too spicy in Ohio he reminds me that New Jersey is home of the hottest wings. The useless travel knowledge he acquires, tickles me pink. So it came as no surprise, to me, when my son announced that he wanted to narrate an "EXTREME Costa Rica" video chronicling our family vacation for the dot com.

Note: "extreme" meant he took a sip of coconut milk and picked up a hermit crab. But everyone has to start somewhere, no?

Jay's "EXTREME Costa Rica" video....

You mean like your in-laws..... right? The ones that funded the house that we all gathered in. I hope we can do the same in our future - and gather our grand children to spend quality time with in a beautiful country.

That beach looks bsolutely stunning. Your son reminds me of my oldest son - such an explorer!
I love when you said "NOT TOO CLOSE!" I'd be a little too scared to be even that close!

Sips of coconut milk and holding hermit crabs are not everyday events for many a eight year old. I think it is fab. But, I totally did not know about the indoor ski hill in Dubai -- thanks Jay!

Jay would make a great TV/movie producer. He captured everything beautiful and extraordinary about Costa Rica and TOTALLY made me want to visit it myself.

Yep, that pretty much looks like paradise! Jay is a spectacular "extreme" TV host!

P.S. The video link wasn't coming through in my Google reader. Not sure if it's supposed to be that way?

That was fantastic! I don't think I could've dragged my oldest son away from the monkeys. He wouldn't have been happy until he had it riding around on his shoulder and I was dead of a heart attack. ;)

What a fab vacation. :)

So cool! Both of my kids tried coconut milk when we were in Jamaica in Nov and you'd think I had tried to poison them from the looks on their faces. These videos really had me missing the beach!
