Here are your random numbers: 47 Timestamp: 2011-05-20 02:00:12 UTC   WINNER IS: PlumbingMom

Last summer I spoke at BlogHer in NYC about editing photos. In the audience was a professional photographer that I've been following online for years, someone that inspires me daily. How's that for intimidating? Rachel Devine isn't only an amazing photographer she also has a kind heart and creates a number of photoshop actions (photoshop actions are photo editing for dummies) that allows a hobbyist like me to take their photos SOOC (straight out of camera) and make them shine like a professional photographers, with just one click. I've said it before and I will say it again, I can't function as a photographer without the help of photoshop actions. I'm still very much a hobbyist that needs a crutch.

Rachel has come out with a new set of actions called "Spring Cleaning". Needless to say, her photoshop actions are amazing.

RachelWINDOWSILL

SOOC on left. "Windowsill" action on right.

Isn't that amazing? Such a subtle but awesome difference in just one click! I know people are intimated by photoshop; but, all I did was open up this photo, click on the WINDOWSILL action and got instant results that are print worthy in under a minute.

Rachel is offering a 50% discount on her "Spring Cleaning" photoshop actions (use the code: spring2011) and giving away her Spring Cleaning actions to one lucky Classy Chaos reader. Just let me know what one spring photo you would like to edit with her actions. I want to hear about it.  Giveaway ends May 17th at midnight where one winner will be chosen by random.

Disclosure: I was given the photoshop actions to review and to giveaway. I would never spend *this* much time writing about something if I didn't think it was valuable to share.

I just took a course in which I made a job aid in Photoshop and did some basic picture editing. It was so fascinating to take something SOOC and sharpen the image or modify the color palette.

I took some great pictures at Disney's Vero Beach Resort and some of them could benefit from Rachel's effects.

I have also been following Rachel's photography for years. I love her work. What I would like to do with her actions is use them on photos of my kids. My daughter was just recently diagnosed as profoundly deaf. She is only one year old. I am sharing our process of cochlear implants through writing and pictures. I am hoping some day to put it all in a book for her.

Love to make my photos snap, crackle, and pop. Right now, I have a spontaneous self portrait that I took with my 3 tweens. We were in the car, I flipped the phone camera around, we made silly faces...and CLICK!!! Would love to see what the spring cleaning actions would do to enhance the sunlight and capture of a frolicking May day.

I'm sorry, but the difference between the picture on the left and the one on the right is just added lightness. You don't need a photoshop action for that.
