Watching my son, who refused to get his hair wet just a couple of years ago, win second place in the freestyle event was priceless.

Witnessing my uber comptetive daughter fight for first place was awesome.

Keeping the caboose kiddo busy was tiresome.

Three more swim meets to go before the swim season ends. Have I mentioned lately how much I love them all? Good golly I love them. They are all rockstars, in my book.

I've been too busy to summer to even pop my head into a mall. As soon as the kiddos are back in school this August, I will think about blogging about fall fashion. I have me eyes on a couple of cute things!

Congrats to your two big kiddos! I swear, sometimes it feels like my heart is going to explode from the love or the feeling of pride in the things my children do. And I'm talking things like... brushing their teeth on their OWN. Heh.

As always, Pauline, your pictures are just captivating! And the kids deserve a big pat on the back and congratulations for those awards they got too! Maybe a big special hug would be better? Love the last photo and your caption about keeping her busy being tiring! Boy, can I ever relate to that with the grandkids here! Keeping Miss Maya from beating Kurtis up is a full-time job most every day!

It is a full-time job, no? I'm running out of ideas to keep her busy during the meets. Good thing that the season is over next week.

The older two are doing so well! The little one looks like she likes to catch sun rays.

The little one gets SO bored at swim meets. I usually pack a backpack full of activities to keep her busy. Not always easy!

Any advice on how you went from the kid who didn't want to get his hair wet to where he is now? We did some basic swim lessons. Problem is I've got twins that are 6 mos so I can't really spend all day in the pool with them working on it. Maybe I'm expecting too much (as usual! Ha!)

We started with basic swim lessons and realized that the HS teacher just wasn't cutting it. Had no prior experience in child development and what not.

We found a great teacher that provided one-on-one swim lessons. He learned more in two months of private swim lessons then in a year of YMCA swim class. It really was the best money we ever spent. At one point, he was afraid of getting his hair washed. Water safety is super important and I wanted to make sure he was comfortable.
