It was a hot day in Cleveland.
The sky was on fire.
Conditions called for a waterpark.
Not one person in sight. The park was all ours.
Two hours of water slides,
before the lifeguard screamed for a safety break.
It was time to search for a treat.
Then back again to tackle the waterslides with new techniques.
First a relaxing float to test the waters.
Followed by a brave soul who conquered the tube.
Challenged by a daredevil that set the tone for more.
The patrons refused to leave after four hours.
Creativity was born.
Laughter echoed throughout the empty waterpark.
While screams of joy bounced around for eternity.
This is how we do summer in the Cleveland suburbs. Any questions?
Photos taken (on my phone) at the Cleveland Metropark's South Chagrin Reservation. Park in the Quarry Rock picnic area (number 4 on the trail map) and travel upstream until just before the Solon road bridge. But don't tell anyone else because we kind of like it all to ourselves. |

Thanks, as always, for sharing your tips!
This hike upstream is a little, actually a lot more, complicated. All of my children have Keens which help. But I need to hold on to my preschooler's hand tightly. We've done the hike upstream so many times that the older two know the easiest way. I follow them now.
That picture of Feenie yelling is so funny!
Do you have any connections with local publishers? LOL.
Though you know, blogging exact directions to it might make it a crowded place. Well unless most of your readers are outside the Cleveland area!
The Sulphur Springs area is no hike at all. You park at the dead end of the picnic area and walk down to the river. It's great for little ones. Shallow.
