4 year-old child is a laundry prodigy PDF Print E-mail

We are spending much less time doing laundry with the Whirlpool Duet. Not only because "bigger is better" (Cliff note version: what used to take us hours before, now takes us half the time, using half the energy) but also because it's very easy to use. Easy enough for a four-year-old child to figure out.

The Duet dryer works in tandem with the washer to make the entire process more efficient by using faster spin speeds in the washer and sensors in the dryer. What does this mean? It means that while your laundry is washing, the computer sends signals to the dryer essentially having a conversation.  "I've done my job!" "It's your turn now!" and the two compromise, cutting laundry time and reducing energy costs.

Such a simple lesson about taking turns and working together. No wonder my preschooler has become the laundress prodigy. It preschool's logic - let's work together to make things awesome.

I wrote this review while participating in a test-drive campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Whirlpool and received a complimentary Whirlpool Duet washer and dryer to facilitate my review. All opinions are my own.

Cuuuute.
May want to leave the washer door open--most front-loaders are prone to mildew if they don't get to dry out before you shut them. Not sure if they've Space-Aged that yet!

Agree w/ the door-open advice. I also have started to use TIDE washing machine cleaner every month. Has made a big difference.

I just got a new washer and dryer but not as pretty as yours. And your prodigy is so adorable. She can come help me do my laundry anytime she wants to expand her knowledge.
Your whirlpool machines make pretty sounds.

What a cute little prodigy! Right now I have to live with the mostly broken washing machine and dryer in my complex (which I am charged 4 euro a load for by the way...) but someday I'll be able to get nice fancy stuff like that!
