Tuesday at the Taj Mahal PDF Print E-mail

The road to the Taj Mahal is anything but peaceful.

It's filled with bumper to bumper traffic, children praying alongside the dirt road and families living in make shift tents inches away from the street. Cattle stop traffic often and pedestrians weave through busy traffic - the roads leading to the Taj Mahal in Agra, India are mentally and physically exhausting for a newcomer. It's a feast for the eyes once the eyes adjust to sensory overload.

I am glad my mother, sister and I had the chance to travel these roads together.

Wow. I've never seen what it actually looks like outside of the big cities of India. Shocking.

I'm currently in India right now - and am very jealous that you're in Agra! (I'm in Pune!) India is an absolutely beautiful place that definitely leaves a touch on everyone who visits. I hope you're as changed by your visit here as I have been by my first visit as well!

Enjoyed the video. I think I've seen enough of India on The Amazing Race to feel like I've been there. :) Love the picture of you, your mom, and your sister. Just beautiful! Enjoy the rest of your trip!

India is so colorful, but those make-shift tents break my heart. Lovely family photo in front of the Taj Mahal.

The sights of your journey to the Taj Mahal remind me of the journey from Phnom Penh Cambodia to Siem Reap/Angkor temples. Stunning, yet shocking and sad.

That last photo looks totally photoshopped. And also, why is your mother the same age as you and your sister?

P.s. I know it's not photoshopped.

P.p.s. I've had wine.
