Feenie. Feenster. Fifi. Those are the nicknames used around our house for my Josephine. Just like the vivacious, clever and self-confident protagonist from Little Women she was named after, Feenie is quick tongued and short tempered.

JOSEPHINE doesn't fit inside a bubble.

"My name doesn't fit inside my circle!" Feenie cried while spending hours circling her wanted items in Christmas catalogs.

"Keep circling and practicing writing your name." I encouraged her, while making dinner.

"It's too long!"

"It's a beautiful name!"

"I can only write Jos, Jose, or Joseph."

"Fine. I'll call you Jose, from now on."

"No, Mama."

"What should I call you?"

"Call me Josephine or don't call me at all."

Feenie is a favourite at our house! My daughter(11) always asks what is new or what Feenie is up to this week. Her name, (Charlotte) doesn't fit into little boxes either ;)

haha She sounds like a character! I'll never forget when my younger son once told me to call him "Homer." As in Homer Simpson. Doh!

That was part of why our Mia is just Mia ... but last week she told me it was boring because there are no nicknames for Mia!

Love this. She is so funny. Josephine is on the list for one of our baby names just because I always identified with Jo from Little Women as a kid.

She is too funny! Would love to meet her in person! My oldest, Elleanor (almost 7), would get along so great with your two girls...outgoing, social, confident and a spitfire!

Even though I've never met Feenie in person...she inspires me daily! No doubt that personality will only continue to blossom in the years to come!

That's adorable. I love that she embraces her long name which is gorgeous (I personally took some time to embrace being a "Katarzyna"). Little Women was one of my all time favorite books growing up. She definitely fits as a "Josephine" :)
