UPDATED 3-26-10:  Congrats to Janet and KaKaty!

Here are your random numbers: 5   34   Timestamp: 2010-03-26 16:23:02 UTC

Remember last month when I shared with you the memories of my hometown's dairy bar? The rest of America has also shared their Single most favorite things about their hometowns and the results have been narrowed down to ten.

To enter this giveaway, please vote for your Single favorite town of the ten semifinalists then come on back to tell me who you voted for. Also let me know what your Single best afternoon looks like in your own hometown. I'll be picking two winners from the comments here at random, using random.org to win $125 amex cards to live out your perfect afternoon. I will announce the winners on March 24th. Good luck! Looking forward to hearing about what your hometowns offer.

I have TWO $125 AMEX CARDS to giveaway. Just:

Tell me who you voted for. And.

Tell me what your Single best afternoon looks like in your home town.

Vote For My Town

Disclosure: I have partnered with KRAFT Foods to help promote the “Single Best Town” in America program. I have been compensated for my time commitment to the program, which includes writing about my own hometown experiences and hosting a giveaway where the prize has been provided by KRAFT Singles. However, my opinions are entirely my own and I have not been paid to publish positive comments.

I voted for Twinsburg, OH. It's a nice town just north of here, and my cousin attends Twins Day there every year with her twins. Gotta share some Ohio love. :)

My single best afternoon here would probably be spent with the kids outdoors--there are lots of great parks nearby--followed by ice cream and music.

A typical day for us includes a walk to the park with the sun shinning and the kiddos playing on the playground. It's free!

I voted for Colorado Springs. Perfect weather and beautiful scenery.

A perfect day in Austin, TX would be spent outdoors - probably hiking in the backyard or planting flowers in the garden. Coupled with a visit to Zilker Park and maybe some pizza down at Homeslice Pizza on SOCO. YUM!

My vote is for Colorado Springs.

And the best day in my town would be, heading down to the Old Downtown Square for some shopping in the funky little shops, lunch at the old burger joint and then heading to the park to let the kids burn off their burgers.

I voted for Augusta since 1.) the entry choked me up a bit...mothers losing sons but staying active in the community that helped them... and 2.) it was one of the underdogs and needs a little love.

My perfect afternoon in my favorite town is shopping in NYC. With an unlimited budget of course. And then a relaxing dinner with a lot of wine. Notice my children are not included in my perfect afternoon...mother of the year!

Oh right - forgot to mention, I wasn't sure if my perfect afternooon was supposed to be in the town I voted for (have never been and the details didn't give me much to go on) or for my real favorite down. So I decided to go with the latter. Hope that counts!

I totally voted for Colorado Springs as I have been there and it is gorgeous. I fell in love. :)

My favorite day in my hometown is in the spring, when the windows are open and I can hear my daughter with her friends playing outside in the fantastic weather. I live in a sleeping community, with a population of just over 1500 people and I love it. I get the small town benefits but only live minutes away to the big city to shop my days away. And spring cannot be sprung soon enough for me as it is my most favorite season.

I love Cleveland Heights! :)

I voted for Twinsburg because I am a homer and would like to support my local community.

A perfect day in my hometown takes me back to my childhood. A day full of roaming the forests and corn fields that surrounded my house, building tree forts, dams in the creek, playing baseball & football, and swimming in our pool.

I voted for A Stitch in Time.

Our Single best afternoon would be in the fall when the leaves change and the mountains are covered in color. We go out to a local state park and walk through the woods. It is the best when the weather is just cool enough to require a jacket and the leaves have just started to fall and get a little crunchy under your feet.

I voted for Doc's Soda Shop

A Single best day in our home town is a picnic to park, with all of my family. My husband and I will lay in the sun, and listen to the children laugh and play, and then we'll all have lunch together.

perfect!

I voted for Hamburg's the Best Town. Because I know about that Burger Fest and I have always wanted to go, yet never have. Which is a shame, because it's only a few hours drive from my house.

And, the single best afternoon in my town, is taking Madaline to the Fall Festival every year in October. It's your standard street festival - food vendors, local farmers, home baked goodies, crafts & face painting. And, the evening ends with fireworks.

Since I grew up in upstate NY, I voted for Hamburg, NY (and who doesn't love a good burger?!)

A Single best afternoon in my hometown would consist of a hike in Purgatory Chasm(it's a state park) and then ice cream at a local creamery (mmm...cake batter ice cream!)

I voted for Twinsburg, OH. Love their twin festival!

Our best afternoon would consist of renting a paddle boat at our local park, then watching our daughter play on the playground and capping the afternoon off with a soft serve ice cream cone.

I voted for Bell Buckle, TN. Such a nice piece of history!

My singe best afternoon would be to wake up around 9am, go grab breakfast at First Watch, peruse Mojo Books, and take my beagle to the dog park and have a half-human/half-canine picnic.

My single best afternoon would be to hit up the salon for a pedi while the girls take a nap and then pick them up for an afternoon playing at the beach! We'd stop off for a delicious dinner somewhere and an ice cream cone from Marble Slab on the way home!

I voted for Twinsburg, OH - gotta keep it in the CLE area!

My single best afternoon would to be to hit one of our great parks for river exploring and hiking, followed by some ice cream at one of the many local ice cream shops and maybe a light dinner on a patio (Chagrin Falls would be the perfect location for all of this). I love being outside in NE OH during the spring and summer!

I voted for Colorado Springs.

The best afternoon in Tempe, AZ is a NOT hot one - preferably in the winter months, sitting on the patio of a restaurant drinking an ice cold margarita.

I voted for my hometown, Bell Buckle, TN!

If you ever make it to Bell Buckle, you have to go to the Cafe. On the weekends they have bluegrass and some of the best home cooking you can ever imagine.

Also, we have the RC Cola/ Moon Pie festival in May which is awesome and the world-famous Webb School Arts & Crafts festival.

Going to Bell Buckle really is like stepping into a past era where everyone wears a big smile and carries an even bigger heart!

A perfect afternoon for me would include, in addition to stopping by the Cafe, some horseback riding or kayaking in the nearby Duck River.

However if browsing for unique southern antiques is your thing, you can't beat Bell Buckle.

Vote every 24 hours for "Bell Buckle, TN: A Stitch in Time!"

I voted for A Stitch In Time. I was very impressed with how this once booming 1856 railroad town was brought back to life again by a local home demonstration club and then many other determined members of the town. I found the story very inspirational!

My best afternoon in CT is taking a long walk on the boardwalk which runs along Long Island Sound. Beginning in April it is really breezy there and very beautiful too! After that I like to go for an early dinner at my favorite restaurant.
