Just about one year ago my husband spent the evening unpacking our new kitchen cabinets from cardboard boxes.  "Don't damage the boxes!  They are priceless and will keep the kiddos busy for hours."  I reminded him.  He spent the majority of the evening removing each dangerous staple trying to salvage a few cardboard boxes for the kids to play in.  My three children were occupied for days.  Turning a box into a car.  A house.  A store.  Etc.

Playing in cardboard boxes is one of my most fondest memories from childhood.

KidsCraft, a new company started by two dads and a grandfather from Atlanta, saw how a cardboard box delights the young child and embarked on making eco-friendly spacious playhouses.  Made in the USA and out of 100% recycled material the playhouses are designed with a brilliant flap and slot system that my seven-year-old helped me put together.  "It's like I am an engineer."  He said.  It took me less than 30 minutes to put together with his eager help.  The very sturdy structure was ready to be decorated...

"I would have never thought of that!"  I smiled when I saw that my son had drawn an alien on the side of the shuttle, where a circle cut-out for a window was placed.  Instead the window cut-out turned into an alien.  Scary....

The exterior of the playhouse is completely white and large enough for three children to make their marks:

Our shuttle is still a work in progress.  The kids stayed up 30 minutes later than usually last night - making special marks on the inside.  And.  And my husband drove them to school this morning because they missed their school bus busy with the exterior.  THEY WERE LATE FOR SCHOOL people.  Needless to say - they love.

KidsCraft, the company, sends a strong message for kids and parents.  As their new business unfolds, the company will donate 100 of their playhouses to charities like the Ronald McDonald House, Boys & Girls Club of America and after-school programs.  More so, 5% of their sales are donated to these organizations' international headquarters.  And that's not all.  KidsCraft has partnered with Trees for the Future Foundation where they support sustainability by planting one tree for every product sold.  Since Trees for the Future foundation was established, they've planted more than 100,000,000 trees worldwide.

I am honored to partner with such a company to offer my readers a giveaway.

Here's what you need to do to enter this giveaway (US residents only):

First comment - Visit www.kidscraftusa.com and tell me one interesting thing about the company.

Second comment - Become a fan of KidsCraft on Facebook (please comment letting me know you are a fan).

Fourth comment - Tweet the giveaway: Have you entered @OHmommy's awesome contest? She's giving away a cardboard playhouse from @kidscraftusa here: http://www.classychaos.com/reviews/557-shuttle (please comment leaving me the tweet).

That's FOUR CHANCES to win and help spread the news about a new company that gives back to the community and the environment.  I will use random dot org to pick the winner and check on Facebook/Twitter to make sure you did your part.  Good luck everyone.  Giveaway ends 4-5-10.  Winner chooses the playhouse they like and the company will ship directly to you.  Woot.

Disclosure:  I was given a playhouse shuttle in exchange for this honest review.

One interesting fact about the company?

Although you have already mentioned it I love the fact that the playhouses are 100% made recycled cardboard materials.
AND that a portion of the proceeds are donated to Children's charities around the U.S!

P.S Even if I don't win this contest, I think I have found my daughter's third birthday present or for Christmas. That cottage house is the cutest house I have EVER seen!

I think it's interesting (and admirable) that the company donates a portion of all proceeds to children's charities in the US.

Great products!

I think it's cool that the idea for their company came from having so many empty cardboard boxes around while they were moving. I can see how this happened. My daughter loves it when packages come since she gets to stash her toys in the opened boxes...not to mention getting to play with the bubble wrap.

Another cool giveaway! We got a cardboard rocket ship for xmas when I was about 5 (bro was 7, sister was 11). We played in that thing until it was torn to shreds. I think I've seen those soy crayon "rocks" in stores around here.
