Welcome back to the Summer Block Party! We're talking about preserving memories here.

For the last eight years both sets of grandparents have received countless photo gifts for every occasion.  Our photos have been eternalized on everything from aprons to tee-shirts - preserving sweet memories of them holding hands with their grandchildren on a beach or running through a field.  They treasure each photo gift and proudly display/wear them often.  Key-chains, mouse pads, calendars, mugs, plates, photo-books, etc.  My mother's most favorite gift was a set of coffee mugs preserving a toddler tantrum with the words "WAKE UP GRANDMA!" written above.  That gift made her giggle each morning.

Chances are if you can print a photo on it - we bought it.

I've searched for more.  I've spent hours on the Internet trying to find something else, something new. Hoping I haven't exhausted all my sources I thought, "What else can I print my photos on, to preserve all the wonderful family memories?" Naturally, my younger sister beat me to it when these arrived in the mail for my daughter...

There's a photo of the kiddos in their very first convertible ride.  And a photo of them beside the pool holding my new God-daughter.  And a photo of our summer vacation to New York City.

And a photo of our family in front of the White House last summer.

The shoes have been washed twice and worn a million of times.  My daughter loves the photos that were lovingly picked out by her Godmother.  People stop and comment on them and are forced to listen to the ramblings of memories told by a six-year-old.  "And this is when.... and later we.... but I loved that..."  Priceless!

Today's  summer prize package worth $30-$40, includes a mix of coupons for free items from the following brands:  JUICY JUICE®,  OVALTINE®,  EDY’S®/DREYER’S®,  CARNATION® Breakfast Essentials,  WONKA®,  STOUFFER’S®,  NESQUIK®,  TOLL HOUSE® Refrigerated Cookie Dough,  TOLL HOUSE® Morsels,  DRUMSTICK® Sundae Cones and NESTLÉ® Pure Life.  Leave me one comment per family (tell me your most favorite photo gift idea) for your chance to win.  Winner of today's summer prize package will be chosen using random.org and will be announced on Friday along with the others.  Come back tomorrow for more ideas of how to preserve your summer memories.  Join the fun over at : 24/7 Moms, Cutie Booty Cakes, Momma Findings and The Not-so Blog.

My most favorite memory of summer is when my eight year old grandson Hayden took his 4 chickens to the county fair. They all had names (of course!) and he wheeled them around in dog kennel sitting on a red wagon. He didn't win first place - nobody did- they all got blue ribbons and our daughter, her husband, Hayden's brother Quincy Grandpa and I all had a fun day at the county fair eating cotton candy and riding the tilt a wheel!

I made a collage for my hubby with pictures of our youngest that the oldest painted the background of. I'm pretty sure he loved it.

(And, those Keds are awesome).

I love photo books. Since I'm not a scrap booker, this is how I preserve our memories!

It definitely sounds boring when paired with the photo Keds, but I do love arranging photo calendars for all the grandparents at Christmas. I always do one for myself too because well...I'm the mom. ; )

OK, so this was not technically done with photos, but it would definitely work with photos. My daughter made me hand-painted note cards in school for mother's day, complete with made with love by... on the back, I took the set of note cards up to Kinko's and had multiple sets made up to use a a gift to grandma, birthday cards, whatever. They are completely personal and unique. The cards are so special and my daughter lights up every time we take one out to use.

Hard to compete with photo shoes! I really love how easy and affordable it is to have photos printed in bound linen covered books now. What a luxury. I just gave one to my husband for Father's Day and he was thrilled to have what he called a "manly scrapbook" to take to work.

My family has loved receiving customized photo books of their grandchildren. I think stretched canvas prints (like you get from Winkflash) would be great gifts too.

Those shoes would definitely be something I'd keep in my hopechest for years to come!

Wow - those are super duper adorable!

My favorite, sad to say, is a simple photo book. I love how the pics are part of the page and can never fall out. :-)

Something I love to give each year to friends and family are ornaments with their photos in them. You can get them at Michaels for around 2 or 3 bucks and I usually put a photo of them or their kiddos in the frame and tie it to a bag or basket of goodies for the family. It is always a hit and I stock up at the after Christmas sale for the next year.

Wow - photo Keds...what a great idea. My favorite photo gift? My husband got me photo charms for mother's day. We had family photos done last summer and the photographer used those to make charms. One side has a photo of one of the kids and the other has a word (family, love, brothers) etc. I treasure them. They clip perfectly on my Jewel Kade necklaces.

My favorite photo gift idea was to take a favorite photo of a beloved pet and use a paint program to make it appear as if it was a drawing instead. Print is out on a good photo printer and frame it. Turns out beautiful and people will ask if it is an original work of art.
(P.S. LOVE those shoes....I must have a pair!)

My favorite photo gift idea has to be making a collage picture frame for my hunny when he was deployed for Fathers Day. We decorated it with boots and put cute writing on it and had a collage picture of my son in his Daddys stetson. It was the cutest!
