Welcome back to the Summer Block Party! We're talking about preserving memories here.

Since owning my camera my children aren't regulars anymore at portrait studios.  But that doesn't mean I don't want a photo of all three of them framed - marking their growth.  Each summer, when the weather is glorious in the Midwest, I aim for taking just one decent photo of them together.

It's doesn't have to be posed.

They don't have to be matching.

I don't even care if they are looking at the camera.

My only goal is to capture them growing from year-to-year.

I do this in two ways.  I enlarge one photo to an 8 by 10 and frame it with a gigantic border that allows enough room for them to leave their adorable handprints.  How fun is this?

hands

Beats a portrait studio anyday and takes "preserving memories" to a whole other level.  Plus it's incredible to see all of our summers framed and hung next to each other.

Today's summer prize package includes one Shutterfly gift card valued at $29.99 (TO PRINT OUT ALL OF YOUR SUMMER PHOTOS!!!) and coupons for the following free items:  JUICY JUICE®, OVALTINE®, EDY’S®/DREYER’S®, CARNATION® Breakfast Essentials, WONKA®, STOUFFER’S®, NESQUIK®, TOLL HOUSE® Refrigerated Cookie Dough, TOLL HOUSE® Morsels, DRUMSTICK® Sundae Cones.

Leave me one comment per family (tell me what photo from this summer you would print out today!) for your chance to win.  Winner of today's summer prize package will be chosen using random.org and will be announced on Friday along with the others.  Come back tomorrow for more ideas of how to preserve your summer memories.  Join the fun over at : 24/7 Moms, Cutie Booty Cakes, Momma Findings and The Not-so Blog.

I would print a pic I took just this evening ... my family celebrated summer birthdays today because my dad is leaving for China on Saturday. He'll definitely miss July and August, and I'm hoping he'll be back for my birthday at the end of September! The kids (ages 14, almost 13, 12, almost 10, and 9) were chasing bubbles around the yard. It was just like old times! I got a couple of great shots, and I'd love to find a glass frame with bubbles to frame one of those pics! Your handprint idea was genious. It's kind of to late for us ... their hands are as big as mine.

Just looking through my pics and thinking we don't have one great one of the boys together, but we're off on our family vacay next week - mission - capture a picture of the boys together - just together! And not dirty! ;)
Also love Shutterfly, love ordering photo books from them! :)

My favorite photo of my boys that I would love to print is the one where they were both looking out our front window watching the rain.

I haven't taken a great summer photo just yet. Several great pics of my clients rocking chinups and the like, but sadly, none of my kiddos (and certainly no chinup photos appropriate for framing and display--that would be just plain weird). I would, however, frame a fabulous photo of my kids that I'll take in the Bahamas in three weeks: one for us and one for my in-laws as a thank you for the cruise they're sending us on :-)

just took a photo of all THREE kiddos (Baby can now sit up alone in the tuband hold her own w/ the other 2) in the tub. It captures their spirit. Also, nothing like mandatory bath b/c of a fun filled day of sunscreen, filth, sand, and popscicles!

I love the hand print idea.

If I had to pick right now, it would be one of my girls playing in the sprinkler.

Wish I would have done the handprint frame years ago...now I'm not sure they'd fit, *sigh*.

I'd print the photo of our family from the Maui luau we went to this spring. It's not often I capture all four of us in one photo and it's one I'll treasure for years.

My daughter took a picture of my husband and I relaxing in the water, and it is the best picture of the two of us we've had in years, so I'd print that.

Although I have two adorable twin daughters, the first photo I would print out is one taken in St. Simons of a cloudy summers day. It shows a lone bright red lifeguard's chair sitting on a sandy beassch with the waves crashing in. The color is beautiful and I would love to display a photo that makes me feel so peaceful amidst a world of preschool-age mischief and chaos. :)

I'd print the photo I took last night when my son finally figured out how to swing on the big kid swing instead of the bucket style baby one. He was so proud!

I would print out a photo of me in the back ground, pouting mad bc my husband and daughter refuse to be serious when I try to get 1 decent photo. And they find it funny to torment me with bunny ears, crossed eyes, tongues, etc. But it is what it is and I would totally frame it. :) I wonder if I will win. I was recently in the running to win a very cool prize against one other person and lost. How disappointing is that??? LOL.

We visited with the fireman last week at a program at our local library. I took a really cute picture of my boys in front of the fire truck and I would print that one out!
